Winter Hideaway
Are you seeking a peaceful escape from the demands of everyday life? A place to focus and slow down? Wondering where you might go to find tranquility, comfort, and maybe the space to write, sketch or meditate? Rosedale Manor, a lovingly restored 133-year-old heritage house located in the heart of old Placentia, could be the perfect setting for you to delve deep into your creative projects.
Operating as a popular bed-and-breakfast from June 1 to September 30, our four rooms are available late fall through early spring for quiet, more lengthy retreats (December 1 - March 31). Within our walls you will find all the cozy comforts of home. We have strived to preserve the traditional elegance of the house while integrating modern conveniences such as high speed internet, individually controlled electric heat in bedrooms, propane fireplaces in the common areas and onsite laundry facilities.
We welcome creatives of all ages (18+), backgrounds, gender identities who seek a quiet place and dedicated time to concentrate on their work—or a place where a creative team can come together to focus or explore. Not interested in working – just seeking stillness and solitude? Time away from the distractions and pressures of your busy life might be just what you need. Spending an extended period at Rosedale in the serenity of winter will allow you the rare opportunity to practise mindfulness, self compassion, and connect with nature through hiking, exploring (and possibly photographing) our stunning coastline.
Each of our private rooms have comfortable double or queen beds, and ensuite bathrooms with showers. The 2 upstairs suites have mini kitchenettes. During the off-season months, you are responsible for your own meals; the full kitchen can be made available at your request. Free wifi and parking are available on site. The dining room (with 3 separate tables) and living room are communal spaces and available for your use. We have curated a small library of NL literature as well as home knit slippers and lap quilts for anyone who is inclined to curl up and enjoy a book and a cup of tea.
The owners of Rosedale live off site but nearby, if needed for support with trail recommendations, supplies and anything else you require to make your stay as relaxing as possible. Your privacy is ensured throughout the duration of your hideaway.

Since all services and amenities are within walking distance from Rosedale, a car is not required while staying at the property. Travel accommodations may be arranged if requested.
